Academic activity at the Faculty involves both statutory research and research oriented at young scientists development.

Current research conducted within the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences comprises doctrinal bases, political determinants  and legal and political regulation of the civil society, judicial and administrative  procedures, and environmental protection legal policy.   

The issues addressed by the statutory research and research oriented at young scientists development conducted by the Faculty staff covers the following topics:

  • Doctrinal bases, political determinants, and legal and political regulation of the civil society;
  • Internal security of the Republic of Poland;
  • Economic instruments in environmental policy of the state;
  • Rules of evaluating evidence in the Polish judicial and administrative procedures;
  • A comparative approach to tax administration.

Statutory and own research conducted by the academic staff of the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences result in numerous publications.

Amongst scientific undertakings, the Faculty may pride itself on the conferences it organises. In 2008, the Faculty initiated a series of conferences focusing on environmental protection. The objective is to try to determine the position and rules of operation of public administration within the legal system of environmental protection and evaluation of conformity of the Polish legal solutions with the community law.

The issues brought to attention in the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences scientific research are present challenges in the area of management and regions of the Eastern Poland. Studies and analyses carried out by research workers as part of statutory research and research oriented at young scientists development concern:

  • Polish economy competitiveness as part of a continuous and sustainable development and its European and global position;
  • Managerial staff competence management in an organisation;
  • Evaluation of mechanisms of budgetary compensation of local government units and their efficiency;
  • Environmental management and protection including operational research of urban and regional development with the application of natural resources;
  • Use of methods and tools facilitating marketing management;
  • Logistics centres operations in Poland including European Union requirements;
  • Methodology of establishing corporate relations with talented workers in a knowledge-based economy;
  • Methods of evaluating process effectiveness;
  • Idea of communications system design in virtual teams.

Furthermore, we are accomplishing a scientific research grant entitled "Synergy vs social capital of modern organisations". The project is financed by the National Science Centre in Poland between 2011 and 2014.
